Mission Critical Data Center

Introduction

Finishing Touch Commercial Cleaning (FTCC) partnered with a leading general contractor to provide ongoing maintenance and post-construction cleaning services for a 200,000+ square foot data center.

The project required strict adherence to cleanliness standards within a secure, mission-critical environment and consistent staffing over an extended construction period.

Challenges

The data center environment presented several operational challenges. All personnel were required to meet background clearance and access protocols due to the facility’s secure nature.

Dust mitigation was critical to protect sensitive equipment and infrastructure, particularly as the project approached commissioning. In addition, the timeline leading up to commissioning was compressed, while the project required daily staffing for approximately eight months, demanding reliability, consistency, and precise coordination.

Approach

FTCC deployed fully cleared teams trained to operate within high-security environments. Specialized cleaning methods were implemented, including the use of HEPA-filtered vacuums and anti-static cleaning techniques to control particulate matter and reduce contamination risks.

FTCC worked closely with the general contractor and surrounding trade teams to sequence work efficiently, avoid disruptions, and maintain steady progress throughout the build.

Results

The project was completed on schedule, delivering a contamination-free, commissioning-ready data center.

FTCC’s disciplined approach to security, dust control, and coordination supported a smooth transition to operational readiness. The general contractor commended FTCC for our expertise in managing cleaning operations in secure, highly sensitive environments.
